About the K. V. Family
On the recommendation of 2nd central pay commission in 1962, to provide a common education with common syllabus 7 curriculum to the children of transferable central govt. employees including Defence personnel, the Ministry of Education, Govt of India, took over 20 regimental schools run by Defence establishments and converted into central schools in 1963. Later theses central schools were rechristened as Kendriya Vidyalaya and as on today 933 Kendriya Vidyalaya through the breath & length of our country meet the needs of a common education to the children of transferable central Govt. Employees including Defence personnel. This phenomenal growth of K. V. is due to its popularity & rapid stride in all the key areas of present day education reforms & has come to be recognized as pivotal institutions, striving to rise the quality of education at school level.
About KV Lakhanpur
Kendriya Vidyalaya Lakhanpur, came into existence on 5th September 1981. The Vidyalaya is situated at a distance of 2 Kms from Lakhanpur on
Genesis
KV Lakhanpur established in 1981 and started functioning in Army Barracks at Kalibar, Janglot.
Milestones of Growth
Vidyalaya acquired its own buildings which is ‘A’ type building with Eleven units of staff quarters. It is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by lush green forests which is pollution free and eco-friendly.
In 2003, When Vidyalaya shifted from Army Brracks to its own building, not even a single playground had been developed. But with the efforts of our worthy principals and staff, we have been able to develop our own Kabaddi, Kho-Kho Pacca Badminton court and volleyball ground. Since the Vidyalaya was located in a hilly terrain lot of filling of earth was required. But with the kind co-operation of Charman VMC and efforts of staff in liaison with local contractors the low lying areas were filled without any expenditure which could hav otherwise cost more than Rs two Lakhs.

Initially the Vidyalaya was situated in Army Barracks at Kalibari Janglot and now the Vidyalaya has its own building.
