Kendriya Vidyalaya Lakhanpur, came into existence on 5th September 1981. The Vidyalaya is situated at a distance of 2 Kms from Lakhanpur on Basoli Road (District Kathua) J & K. The school has its own building and the classes are being run from I to XII, having two streams (Humanities and Science). The building houses, two Computer labs in addition to Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Junior Science lab. A Model Kendriya Vidyalaya at present is heading towards a ‘Smart School’ infrastructure under the principal ship of Mr. A. Lateef
About the K. V. Family
On the recommendation of 2nd central pay commission in 1962, to provide a common education with common syllabus 7 curriculum to the children of transferable central govt. employees including Defence personnel, the Ministry of Education, Govt of India, took over 20 regimental schools run by Defence establishments and converted into central schools in 1963. Later theses central schools were rechristened as Kendriya Vidyalaya and as on today 933 Kendriya Vidyalaya through the breath & length of our country meet the needs of a common education to the children of transferable central Govt. Employees including Defence personnel. This phenomenal growth of K. V. is due to its popularity & rapid stride in all the key areas of present day education reforms & has come to be recognized as pivotal institutions, striving to rise the quality of education at school level.
